Privacy Policy - Glimmerling
Last updated: July 7, 2026
Glimmerling ("we", "us") makes a maze game designed for children. We built it to be safe and private by default. This policy explains what little data the app handles.
- No ads
- No tracking
- Works offline
- Kid-private
The short version
- We do NOT collect names, emails, phone numbers, photos, or location.
- No third-party ads. No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- The game works fully offline.
- Optional cloud backup stores only your game progress under an anonymous id, never anything that identifies a child.
Data we store on the device
Game progress and preferences, including stars, coins, characters, sound, music, language, and control style, are saved locally on the device using standard storage. You can erase all of it any time in Settings > Reset Data.
Anonymous cloud backup
If enabled, we back up the same game progress to our secure cloud provider, Supabase, so a child can restore progress on a new device. Sign-in is anonymous. No account, email, or personal detail is required or collected. The backup contains only game progress tied to a random device id.
What we do NOT do
- No advertising or ad networks.
- No selling or sharing of data.
- No behavioral tracking or profiling.
- No social features that expose a child's identity. Leaderboard names are sample or demo names, not real users.
Children's privacy (COPPA / GDPR-K)
Glimmerling is intended for children and is designed around COPPA and GDPR-K privacy principles. Because we collect no personal information, no parental consent flow is required to play. Purchases or external links are gated behind a parent check.
Data retention and deletion
Local data lives until the child deletes it in Settings > Reset Data or uninstalls the app. Anonymous cloud backups can be deleted on request by contacting us below.
Changes
We will update this page and the Last updated date if anything changes. If ads, analytics, in-app purchases, or account sign-in are added later, this policy and the landing page privacy language must be revised before release.
